What are regions and availability zones?

Regions are geographical areas that contain multiple availability zones (AZs). Each AZ is a distinct location within a region that is engineered to be isolated from failures in other AZs. This architecture allows for high availability and fault tolerance in applications.

Why should I deploy my application in multiple availability zones?

Deploying your application across multiple AZs enhances its resilience and availability. In the event of an outage in one AZ, traffic can be rerouted to another AZ, ensuring continuous operation and minimizing downtime.

What prerequisites should I consider before creating an experiment?

Before starting your experiment, ensure that your application is deployed in multiple AZs. This setup is crucial for validating the performance and reliability of your application under various conditions.

How do I run an experiment to test my application?

To run an experiment, you will need to set up the necessary configurations for your application across the selected AZs. Once configured, you can initiate the experiment and monitor the results to assess the application's behavior across different environments.

What outcomes can I expect from running an experiment with my application?

Running the experiment will yield results that help you understand how well your application performs in a multi-AZ setup. You can expect insights into latency, uptime, and overall resilience of your application during various failure scenarios.

What is the conclusion regarding the use of availability zones?

In conclusion, leveraging availability zones is essential for enhancing the reliability and performance of applications. By utilizing multiple AZs, you can significantly reduce the risk of downtime and ensure a more robust service delivery.
